The Latest Windows Home Server Version Unveiled: A Closer Look at “Vail

The latest preview of Windows Home Server, codenamed "Vail," is now available for download, as announced on Microsoft’s Windows Team Blog. This refreshed preview introduces numerous updates and enhancements across various features, such as remote access, Homegroups, video streaming, and storage management.

Notably, the remote access networking now supports OpenDNS and multi-NIC configurations for wireless connections. Additionally, users will benefit from a new storage summary page, which presents an overview of storage usage directly on the server.

Microsoft is encouraging beta testers to download this updated preview and provide feedback through the Windows Home Server Team’s Connect site. Alongside the preview, the Vail preview SDK is also accessible, offering users comprehensive documents to assist in building add-ins, as well as API references that help in addressing extensions and management of Windows Server code-named "Vail.
