AMD has officially launched the Pro Edition 25 Q2 graphics driver, specifically designed for professionals utilizing Radeon PRO GPUs and select Ryzen processors. Unlike typical updates for gamers, this release prioritizes long-term stability, performance, and security crucial for critical work environments.
This new driver provides official support for AMD’s latest Ryzen AI PRO chips, including the Ryzen AI Max 300 Series. Additionally, it enhances compatibility with Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Server 2025, allowing enterprise users to effectively test and deploy.
The AMD Software Pro Edition 25 Q2 may not receive updates as frequently as consumer versions, but it is optimized for reliability. It supports users running Windows 10, Windows 11 (64-bit), and Windows Server 2022 or 2025 on compatible AMD systems. These systems include:
- AMD Ryzen AI and Ryzen AI Pro processors
- Radeon PRO W7000, W6000, W5000, WX series, PRO VII, and Vega Frontier
- Workstations from HP and Lenovo, such as the Firefly 14 G11 A or P14s Gen5
Despite its advancements, there are still some unresolved issues:
- Certain 8K media files may generate a “Media Offline” error when used with DaVinci Resolve.
- Terrain images can experience loading issues in Tresus MVPPro.
- Blender EEVEE encounters problems rendering shadows when using the Subdivision Surface modifier.
