Microsoft Reveals Complete List of Supported CPUs for Windows Server 2025, Including Pentium Processors

Microsoft earlier today announced the general availability of Windows Server 2025, alongside System Center 2025. As such, the company has also updated the list of supported CPUs to include the chips that are ready for the newest Server version.

These include Xeon Scalable Processors (SP) from 2nd Gen all the way up to the 5th Gen as well as Xeon 6 SP, and Xeon E and D SKUs. A couple of modern Pentium chips have been included as well. On the AMD side, EPYC 7002, 7003, 8004, 9004, 9005 series, and more CPUs are included:

The organization emphasizes that the table of supported CPUs presented earlier serves solely as a prerequisite for system certification rather than a definitive measure of support. This list will be periodically updated to incorporate newer processor releases:

IMPORTANT: The aforementioned list of supported processors does not automatically ensure Microsoft support for Windows Server. It is merely a prerequisite for system certification. Only systems utilizing the approved processors listed can achieve certification for Windows Server. Unless specified otherwise, Microsoft will persist in evaluating the processor list relevant to each OS release and will refresh it as new compatible processors emerge in the market.

Since May of this year, Microsoft has been engaged in testing hardware and software compatibility for certification and later in September, it shared an important update regarding the testing process.
