As of now, all supported systems can download and install the Windows 11 25H2 update. This is available for both Windows 10 and Windows 11 users, assuming their systems meet the necessary requirements. Even though there have been various issues reported with this version—such as installation failures and compatibility problems with Intel Arc GPU drivers—Microsoft indicates that it is working to resolve these.
To find out if the update is available, users can check under Settings > Windows Update. If eligible, they will have the option to download and install the new version. Additionally, Microsoft is implementing a machine-learning approach to automatically download this update for users whose PCs are not managed by IT departments. This feature will help streamline the upgrade process and ensure users receive important features and improvements.
With the final Patch Tuesday of 2025 approaching, additional updates are expected. It includes important security patches, particularly concerning Windows 10 users whose support has recently ended. Microsoft will not patch vulnerabilities for PCs that haven’t upgraded unless enrolled in Extended Security Updates (ESU).
