Unlocking the Features: A Deep Dive into Microsoft’s Major Windows 11 Update

Microsoft has started to roll out the 2024 update for Windows 11, but the process will take place in phases.

This update, referred to as version 24H2, introduces Microsoft’s latest AI functionalities for select devices. It also features a refreshed interface for File Explorer, the introduction of the sudo command for elevated privileges in standard console sessions, new tools and capabilities for IT professionals, important security enhancements, and more.

With this update, Windows 11 gains support for Wi-Fi 7, allowing users to easily share Wi-Fi networks through QR codes.

For example, whenever a new application attempts to utilize location services, a notification will be displayed. This feature is designed to stop applications from finding out the device’s actual location without the user’s explicit approval.

Today marks the beginning of an update rollout for personal devices running Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2. This process will take place gradually.
