Microsoft Unveils Out-of-Band Updates KB5058919, KB5058922, and KB5058921 for Windows 10 and 11

Microsoft has released out-of-band (OOB) updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10 to address a specific issue related to Active Directory Group Policy. This update follows the recent Patch Tuesday on April 2025 which introduced various fixes and improvements (Windows 11 Patch and Windows 10 Patch).

The focus of this OOB update is to resolve a bug where audit logon/logoff events might not be displayed correctly in the Local Group Policy Editor or Local Security Policy, even when they are functional. Microsoft clarified that this problem is more relevant for environments utilizing Active Directory Group Policy, rather than typical home users.

The updates released on April 11, 2025, include:

  • Windows 11, versions 23H2 and 22H2 (KB5058919)
  • Windows Server 2022 (KB5058920)
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Windows Server 2019 (KB5058922)
  • Windows 10 LTSB 2016 and Windows Server 2016 (KB5058921)

These updates can be downloaded directly from the Microsoft Update Catalog and they supersede all previous updates; thus, previous installations are not required prior to applying them.
