PCs that don\u2019t receive the replacement certificates may lose the ability to download updates directly from Windows Update after the relevant deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is distributing the new certificates through Windows updates. Supported Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 26H2 already received them in the July 2026 security update, so PCs that are up to date should be covered. Devices that get updates through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) are not affected by this change.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid losing Windows Update access, install the following updates before the applicable deadline:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2025:<\/strong> Install the September 2025 security update or later before June 19, 2027.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other supported versions of Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, and supported versions of Windows 10:<\/strong> Install the July 2026 security update or later before June 19, 2027.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016:<\/strong> Install the July 2026 security update or later before May 17, 2027.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other Windows versions:<\/strong> Upgrade to a supported Windows client or Windows Server version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For details, see <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/release-health\/windows-message-center#4964\">Microsoft\u2019s guidance on the 2027 Windows Update certificate rotation<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft\u2019s Windows Update certificates are set to expire on May 17 and June 19, 2027.
